Avoid Procrastination and Set Your Goals Straight


Procrastination. Doubting.





These are negative thoughts that will stop us from achieving our dreams and goals. But please know that this is normal, it is not a big problem or something that one can't resolve.


I use to procrastinate a lot towards my own goals. I had the fear not being able to achieve my goals. I use to write my goals and erase it again and again simply because I did not believe I could do it, I did not have the trust in myself that I can achieve those big dreams and I limit myself. I use to live in fear and avoid myself from speaking to successful people just because I thought I can never stand anywhere close to them.


But I realize it is all because I did not have a proper guidance and a proper mentor to teach me how to think big. Yes, it is that simple. You need to think big to achieve big, You need to be surrounded with people who believe and support you to do what you want, it does not matter how big your goals and dream is. I am very thankful for being able to introduce to a business that teaches me to trust and believe in my goals and how to work towards it. It all starts from the way you think, act and behave. Your attitude determines what you want in your life.


If you want to achieve your goals and avoid those little mind of procrastination, follow this:


1) Walk the talk





Stop saying you will do this to get this done. Stop saying those shit and start walking the talk. Write in detail what you want to achieve in 1 year, 5 years and 10 years. Stick this at a place you can see it daily. Break down those big goals to smaller tasks that you can do daily, weekly and monthly to achieve it. Track your progress and make sure you stick to what you suppose to do. Don't just say you "want" to do this, but say "I am doing - - - - - -"and make it happen. Always remember talking alone will not bring you anywhere closer to your goals, but you got to start delivering and taking action towards the goals that you want to achieve,



2) Be S.M.A.R.T with your goals.





Procrastination often happens because we are not being specific enough with what we want. We are not detailed enough. We are simply writing goals for the sake of writing it. We do not mean it. We are not fully understanding why we want to achieve certain goals in our life. We need to get it right from A to Z and know exactly what is needed to hit the target. In order for us to do this, we need to make sure each goals are set according to the S.M.A.R.T version.

It has to be Specific enough that we can answer all those 5 W's question for each of our goals.

Make sure the goals are measurable, by when you want to achieve it, and if this related to income, you need to have an amount that is measurable to your needs and desire.

Your goals need to be achievable and attainable; please stop setting goals that are beyond what you can achieve, this is why you doubt if you can do it. Set something that is achievable, take smaller steps before reaching the ultimate goals.

Additionally, the goals that you've set need to be realistic enough. Stop reaching for the moon when you are still searching for your transportation on the ground. Love yourself enough that you know your goals need to be realistic so that you do not hurt or torture yourself to get to something that is impossible.

Write down each goal with a target on when you want to achieve this, It can be weekly basis, monthly or quarterly basis. When you set a time-frame, it gives you a push to work towards it. Procrastination will only kick in when you are not writing yourself a time-frame and you let it flow until the next year - this is where nothing is achieved.


So having said that, stop procrastinating and start doing it now; right at this point of time if you want to make a difference. No time is perfect for you to wait and procrastinate and decide when to start writing down yoru goals and start doing it. The time is NOW.


If you don't take action NOW, you will have nothing to learn from.


ACTION will destroy your procrastination!


So let's move on to the right direction and achieve our goals this 2019!
